TITLE: Writing a thesis: media options (see web materials)

Prerequisites: GRS Writing a Thesis.

Content Synopsis:

Recap of writing skills for thesis presentation, referencing, etc.

Examining a range of examples of PhD thesis presentation including published books, CD-ROMs using multimedia and databases, web-based formats, PDF and hybrid formats. Critical responses to these formats.

Discussion of current issues concerning the relationship between text and image for thesis presentation, and linear versus non-linear information.

Learning Outcomes:

As a result of this course you will:
Be familiar with a range of current thesis presentation options for art research, including practice-led research.

Illustrated seminar, discussion, hands-on.
